1. Yoga & Pilates
The beauty of yoga and pilates is that if you have a mat or a towel and a piece of ground, you can do it anywhere! You don’t need to go to a class, nor a gym. Yoga is foundational in many cultures, yoga can look different pending on where you are in the world. That is the beauty of it! If you’d like to try a teacher led class, there are many great options online. Our personal favourites are: Yoga With Adriene, and Kalyn’s Coffee Talks & Yoga Flows. Both of these online communities are accessible and are geared towards all levels. Yoga and pilates are fantastic for flexibility, strengthening your core, deepening your breath and for practising mindfulness. A win win!
2. Hiking
Hiking may look different to you, pending on where you live. Whether you’re hiking up mountains or trekking through forests, hiking is an elevated form of walking and it usually comes with some spectacular views! Hiking is a great form of activity that can be done in groups, so it provides the best of both worlds, socializing and exercise! We love hiking as it’s fantastic to build muscle in your legs but also gets your heart rate up, while covering lots of ground. A quick google search or research on the All Trails app will tell you what hikes are near your area.
3. Workout App – FORM Is A Personal Fave
A workout app that can be downloaded on your phone is a super conveinent way to get a quick workout in, no matter where you are. A favourite of ours is FORM By Sami Clarke. These workouts can be done in a hotel room, your home, even while camping! As long as you have your phone or a laptop (if you prefer a bigger screen), you can access these workouts. From 10 minutes to 40 minutes, there’s strength training, pilates, low impact options, the list goes on. It’s a very affordable way to workout too, a year’s subscription is under $150, much cheaper than the gym!

4. Running or Daily Walks
This may be an obvious one, but let’s discuss anyways. You can run or walk no matter where you are, that’s the beauty of it being an easy workout option. But not everyone makes this type of physical activity a habit. A lot of people don’t realize just how amazing a daily walk can be for your health! It may seem simple, but taking even 20 minutes out of your day will improve your cardiovascular health. We like to start a day with a morning walk or run off the day’s stress in the evenings. All you need is yourself and a pair of good shoes.
5. Swimming
Swimming is an incredible way to move your body! It’s low impact on your joints and a great way to get a cardio workout in, stay cool and build muscle. A full body workout to the max. When you’re travelling, a lot of hotels will have pools to access for a workout. If you’re more of the outdoorsy type and spend your summers at the lake, you’ve got a giant natural pool right there! Swimming is optimal for your heart health and strengthens your breathing, arms and legs.

Staying active and in your usual routine while on the go or in a busy season of life, is essential to feeling your best. We all know how easy it is to get preoccupied and let your workouts slide to the wayside. Though when you are active, everything in life seems to be that much more invigorating.
